The Fair use Authority
would the following properties qualify for protection under the “fair use doctrine” of the u.s. copyright act?
Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright act allows for the use of copyrighted works, without the original author’s consent, for comment and criticisms protected by the 1st amendment. There are no clear rules involving the exact amount that can be used, or when. Whether a use qualifies as a “Fair Use” would ultimately be decided on a case by case basis by a judge or Jury. That’s where you come in. Please examine the four criteria in the copyright Act, and then vote your opinion here as to whether you feel the use posted below is a “Fair Use” that should be protected by the courts, or one that should be condemned by the courts and prevented.
